Here are 3 Fun Activities to Complete with your Family!

  • Activity One: Interview a family member about any big obstacles he or she has overcome. Here are some guiding interview questions:

  1. Tell me about a time that you were faced with an obstacle.

  2. What did you do to overcome the obstacle?

  3. What did you learn about yourself through this experience?


  • Activity Two: Click on the following link to Scholastic.com. With a family member, read the "One World" articles titled "What Makes You, You" and "A Better World." Then click on the PDF link at the end of the article and have your family member help you complete the "Who Are You?" form (see below). If you do not have internet access, let me know and I will give you a printed version of the articles and form.

  • Activity Three: Create a personal culture box with photos, memorabilia, poetry, artwork, etc. Consider things you value and want to save and preserve. We will share our culture boxes in class. Include at least 3 aspects of your culture:

  1. One item you can hold and touch

  2. One item you explain

  3. One photo you can explain
